Why I deleted my LinkedIn

It is scary to delete the thing I ostensibly need to have a career. A professional network is something that has a lot of value and doesn't happen overnight. However, I felt like it was time to say goodbye to my LinkedIn account. Here's why:

  1. LinkedIn is owned by Microsoft. Microsoft is aiding the genocide in Gaza.
  2. Baseline anxiety over having personal information accessible to malicious actors, and it being brokered to data collection corporations.
  3. I have not received a solid lead for a new professional opportunity on LinkedIn since September of 2022.
  4. The feed is 80% AI slop, 20% LinkedIn Lunatics. Most of it isn't even from people in my network.
